Briber ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application ("App").

Information You Provide:
• Account information (name, email, phone number)
• Payment information (processed and stored by Stripe — we never see your full card number)
• Profile data (username, avatar)
• Bribe content (descriptions, proof submissions, comments)
• Communications with us

Information Collected Automatically:
• Device information (device type, OS version, unique identifiers)
• Usage data (features used, screens viewed, timestamps)
• Push notification tokens

Information from Third Parties:
• Phone contacts (only when you explicitly grant permission, used solely to find friends on Briber)
• Stripe account verification status

We use your information to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the App
• Process payments and manage escrow accounts
• Verify your identity and phone number
• Send notifications about Bribe activity
• Match you with contacts who are also on Briber
• Moderate content using AI analysis
• Respond to your requests and support inquiries
• Prevent fraud and enforce our Terms of Service
• Comply with legal obligations

When you choose to sync your contacts, we send phone numbers to our server solely to identify which of your contacts are on Briber. We do NOT:

• Store your contacts' names on our servers
• Share your contacts' information with third parties
• Use contact data for marketing or advertising
• Retain phone numbers beyond the matching process

Contact syncing is entirely optional and requires your explicit permission.

When you submit proof of Bribe completion, the content may be analyzed by artificial intelligence (Anthropic's Claude) to assist with verification. AI analysis is used to:

• Evaluate whether proof meets the Bribe requirements
• Generate proof submission guidance
• Assist with content moderation

AI-processed content is not used to train AI models. Analysis results are stored alongside the proof submission.

All payment processing is handled by Stripe. We store:

• Your Stripe customer ID (not your card number)
• Your Stripe Connect account ID (for receiving payouts)
• Transaction records (amounts, types, timestamps)

We never have access to your full credit card number, bank account number, or other sensitive financial credentials. Please review Stripe's Privacy Policy for information about how Stripe handles your payment data.

We share your information only in these circumstances:

• With other users: Your username, name, and avatar are visible to other users. Bribe details are visible to participants and (if public) to all users.
• With Stripe: For payment processing and identity verification.
• With Twilio: For SMS notifications and phone verification.
• With Anthropic: For AI-powered proof analysis and content moderation.
• With AWS: For file storage (proof uploads, avatars).
• As required by law: To comply with legal process or government requests.
• For safety: To protect the rights, safety, and property of our users.

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Transaction records are retained for 7 years for financial compliance. If you delete your account:

• Profile data is removed within 30 days
• Transaction records are anonymized but retained for compliance
• Escrowed funds for active Bribes are returned before deletion

We implement industry-standard security measures including:

• Encrypted data transmission (TLS/SSL)
• Hashed passwords (bcrypt)
• Secure token-based authentication (JWT)
• Rate limiting to prevent abuse
• Regular security reviews

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Correct inaccurate data
• Delete your account and associated data
• Export your data in a portable format
• Opt out of non-essential communications
• Withdraw consent for contact syncing

Briber is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 18, we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the App or via email. Your continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
